EBC uses low carbon HPSR steel with a 18% higher coefficient of friction. This steel is much more resistant to rust than cast steel. In addition, the entire surface is protected by a 3 micron thick zinc layer, which abrades itself in the area of the brake pad contact zone during braking. The brake discs are drilled in Vogelschwingendesign to get along with as few holes as possible while optimizing cleaning of the brake disc of rainwater and brake dust.
