EBC uses low carbon HPSR steel with a 18% higher coefficient of friction. This steel is much more resistant to rust than cast steel. In addition, the entire surface is protected by a 3 micron thick zinc layer, which abrades itself in the area of the brake pad contact zone during braking. Only in this area can more easily rust form during prolonged life.
