The urban jungle has prepared many unpleasant surprises for every rider. Michelin has developed the City Grip tire to make it much easier to face them. The tire was developed with the main requirements of customers in mind, especially for optimal grip on slippery surfaces (such as tram rails, white road markings, contaminated surfaces). Michelin City Grip also guarantees neutral behavior and good motorcycle control, versatility for use in any weather conditions, therefore grip in wet and cold conditions, high resistance to damage in urban potholes, and longevity in terms of high mileage performance. This is the first scooter tire from Michelin with sipes. The tread structure is a direct response to customer requirements. Michelin PST sipe technology is used for maximum grip on wet and slippery surfaces. Increasing the negative tread (grooves and sipes) in the tire shoulder for optimal wet grip and high longevity. Variable tread depth for maximum mileage performance and regular wear. The quality of the new tire is evidenced by the fact that Piaggio chose it for their best-selling model MP3. Michelin used PST technology for the first time on this scooter tire - sipes in the tread. The new sipes disrupt the water film and improve grip on slippery surfaces. The sipes have the same depth as the tread grooves, so they function until the tire is completely worn out. The amount of sipes in contact with the road changes with the angle of the motorcycle - when leaning in a curve, there are more in contact, increasing safety when cornering. In order to achieve even tire wear, the tread depth in the center of the tread is the greatest, as this is where the most wear occurs. This optimizes tire life and ensures driving performance until complete wear. The tread structure is designed to achieve maximum mileage performance, so it is recommended to follow the specific direction of rotation for both front and rear tires. The new Michelin City Grip tire retains the basic architecture of the Michelin Gold Standard tire to maintain the excellent driving performance and handling of this popular tire, which is found in the original equipment of manufacturers such as Piaggio, Yamaha, or Peugeot. Compared to the Michelin Gold Standard tire, the new Michelin City Grip has a different construction design in the bead area. Riding in the city means moving on various surfaces that often place high demands on both the motorcycle and the tire (paved streets, cobblestones, etc.). For this reason, the rear Michelin City Grip tires have a stiffer construction in the bead area, achieved by optimal placement of the carcass plies. No customer reviews for the moment.
