Michelin Pilot Power 3 is the successor to the very popular and sought-after Power 2CT, which has been at the top of the sales charts for supersport tires since its introduction in 2006. The technology used in production, including materials, is based directly on the knowledge gained from developing tires for MotoGP riders. The dual-compound technology Michelin 2CT directs softer rubber to the edges of the tire and harder material to the center. The result is high mileage and excellent grip in corners. In the construction of this tire, a new generation 2CT+ was used, with the hard compound placed in the center and bottom of the tire, and the new soft compound placed only on the edges in the upper part of the tire, ensuring better tire stiffness when leaning. This improvement results in increased stability, especially during strong acceleration coming out of corners. Thanks to the new tread design, it offers significant improvements in wet road handling compared to its predecessor and approximately 20% higher mileage.
